Text Brea in iMessage

Text Brea the way you would text a person. One request per message works best, but you can also ask for several things at once.

When Brea gets your message, it marks it as read and shows that it is typing. Most replies come in a few seconds. Work in a browser takes longer. Brea first replies “Working. I’ll send the result when I’m done, or let you know if I need anything else.” and then sends the result as a new message.

The iMessage page in your settings shows Brea’s number, with buttons to Text Brea and Save Brea’s contact.

Brea’s number can change. If Brea texts you from a new number, that is normal. The iMessage page always shows the current number.

You can send Brea:

  • Photos. Brea can see them. Ask it to read a receipt, a sign, or a screenshot.
  • Files. Brea can read PDFs and spreadsheets, and work with the numbers in them. For example, send two bank exports and ask for the total by merchant. Brea can’t read a scanned PDF that has no text in it.
  • Voice memos. Brea turns them into text and replies to what you said.

Each file can be up to 25 MB. Brea can’t listen to audio files other than voice memos. If you send one, it asks you to type the message.

If a file doesn’t arrive, Brea tells you and asks you to send it again.

Brea can send you files, like a statement it downloaded from a website or a spreadsheet it made. They arrive as attachments in the same thread. If a file can’t be sent over iMessage, Brea names the file in its message.

Brea doesn’t reply in group chats. Text it one to one.

There is no setting for Brea’s tone. Tell it in a message, like “keep replies short” or “call me Sam”. Brea remembers it. See Memory.

You can’t change your phone number in settings. Contact support to change it.
